// Our Company
A school built on
clarity and craft.
We started Samong Code because we thought there was a better way to teach people how to work with AI — one that treated them as capable adults with limited time and specific goals.

How Samong Code came to be.
Samong Code grew out of a series of conversations between practitioners who had spent years working in data science and machine learning, mostly in and around Bangkok's technology sector. The recurring frustration was this: the people who wanted to learn AI seriously — people who were already working, who had technical backgrounds, who were willing to put in real effort — could not find courses that matched their level of seriousness.
Most available options were either too shallow or too time-intensive. The shallow ones relied on drag-and-drop tools and called it machine learning. The intensive ones assumed learners could treat studying as a full-time job. Neither worked for the people we were talking to.
So in early 2023, we began building something different: courses where every module centres on a concrete project you build yourself, where a real mentor reads your work rather than an automated grader, and where the prerequisites are stated honestly upfront. We named the school Samong Code — a nod to the Thai word for brain, and a reminder that careful thinking is the whole point.
We are based in Watthana, Bangkok. All our courses run fully online and are paced for part-time learners across Thailand and the broader Southeast Asian region.
Our Mission
To help working professionals develop practical AI skills through structured, mentor-supported learning — without hype, without hollow promises, and at a pace that respects their existing commitments.
Our Values
- Honesty about difficulty. We describe what each course demands before you enrol, not after.
- Depth over coverage. We prefer to teach fewer topics well than many topics superficially.
- Respect for the learner. We write for adults who already know a few things and want to know more.
- Patience in feedback. A question that seems basic often points to a concept worth explaining properly.
// The Team
The people who run the courses.
Each member of the Samong Code team has worked in industry before moving into teaching — so they know the difference between textbook ML and the messier version you encounter at work.
Napat Kositchaivat
Founder · AI Engineering Lead
Napat spent eight years building ML systems for logistics and fintech companies before starting Samong Code. He leads the AI Engineering Mentorship track and reviews code submissions personally.
Wanida Suwan
Data Science Educator
Wanida designed the Data Foundations curriculum and brings a background in academic research and consulting. She is known among students for the care she puts into written feedback.
Pattarapol Thong
Computer Vision Mentor
Pattarapol worked on image analysis systems for manufacturing before joining Samong Code. He leads the Computer Vision Essentials course and designs the hands-on project components.
// How We Work
Standards we hold ourselves to.
These are not policies we wrote for a brochure — they reflect decisions we have made in practice about how the school should operate.
Curriculum Review
Each course is reviewed at least once per year against current tools and methods. AI moves quickly; we update materials when the underlying practice has changed, not just when a new library is released.
Feedback Within 48 Hours
We commit to responding to submitted work within two working days. If we cannot meet that for any reason — illness, holidays — we tell you in advance and adjust your timeline accordingly.
Data Privacy
We collect only the data needed to run your course. We do not sell learner information. Your project submissions are kept confidential and used only for mentoring purposes.
Honest Enrollment Guidance
If you enquire about a course and we believe you are not yet ready for it, we say so — and suggest what to do first. We would rather have you join when the fit is right.
Practical Assessment
We do not assess learners through multiple-choice tests. Work is evaluated through the projects you build and the reasoning you demonstrate in your submission notes.
Regional Accessibility
All courses run asynchronously and are scheduled around ICT (UTC+7). Learners across Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Laos can participate without attending live sessions at inconvenient hours.
// Our Approach to AI Education
Depth matters more than speed.
The field of AI development has no shortage of introductory material. What is harder to find is instruction that bridges the gap between understanding the idea and being able to implement it reliably. At Samong Code, that bridge is what we spend most of our time on.
In our Data Foundations course, the emphasis is on understanding what your data actually contains before you attempt to model it — a step that experienced practitioners know matters enormously, and that most courses gloss over. In Computer Vision Essentials, we work through the reasoning behind the techniques rather than treating them as black boxes to be applied. In the AI Engineering Mentorship, the focus shifts to building systems that behave well under real conditions, not just on clean benchmark datasets.
Our approach is shaped by a belief that learners in Southeast Asia — and in Bangkok in particular — are operating in a context where AI literacy is becoming professionally relevant across a wide range of fields. We see our students moving into roles in healthcare analytics, supply chain optimisation, fintech, and software product development. The courses are designed with those environments in mind, not generic Western tech industry templates.
We are a small school by design. Keeping the team and the learner cohort small means mentors can give meaningful attention to each person's work. We expand slowly, and only when we are confident the quality of instruction can be maintained.
