// Why Choose Us
What makes learning
here different.
A lot of AI courses look similar on the surface. This page explains, plainly, how Samong Code is structured and where it differs from what you might have encountered elsewhere.

Six things worth knowing before you enrol.
A mentor who knows your work
Not automated grading, not forum replies. A named mentor reads what you submit and responds to it specifically.
Every module has a project
You build something in each module. Not a toy demo — a small, complete project you can explain and extend.
Clear prerequisites, stated upfront
We describe what each course requires before you pay for it. If you are not ready, we will tell you what to do first.
Designed for part-time schedules
No fixed live sessions. No scheduling that assumes you are a full-time student. Work at evenings and weekends if that is what suits you.
Transparent, all-inclusive pricing
The price you see covers everything: materials, exercises, mentor access, and the course certificate. No upsells mid-course.
Built for the regional context
Our examples, datasets, and framing reflect Southeast Asian industries and working conditions, not Western tech defaults.
// Expertise
Our mentors have built things in production.
The people teaching at Samong Code have spent years working in data science, machine learning engineering, and computer vision — not teaching about it from the outside, but doing it at companies where the work had real consequences. That background shapes how they explain things and what they consider worth knowing.
When a mentor reads your project code and leaves a comment, that comment comes from someone who has had to debug similar problems under time pressure. It is a different kind of feedback than what a grading script provides.
What this means in practice
- Feedback reflects real-world engineering standards, not textbook expectations
- Course materials cover how techniques behave on messy data, not just clean examples
- Explanations distinguish between what matters for understanding and what matters for production
- Portfolio pieces are structured so you can explain your choices to a technical interviewer
How the learning model works
- Each module introduces a concept through a worked example, then gives you a parallel problem to solve
- Exercises are graded by your mentor, not by pattern-matching against expected outputs
- Each course ends with a project you specify (within given boundaries), not a standardised exam
- Mentor feedback is returned within 48 working hours of submission
// Process
Learning that follows a clear, repeating pattern.
Each module follows the same rhythm: you read the material, work through an example alongside the explanation, complete an exercise, and submit it for review. There is no ambiguity about what you are supposed to do next.
This structure is intentional. Knowing what comes next reduces cognitive overhead, which leaves more mental space for the actual learning.
// Value
What the course fee actually covers.
Courses at Samong Code are priced to reflect the time your mentor spends with your work. The Data Foundations course is ฿4,400 for seven weeks of structured learning and mentor review. Computer Vision Essentials is ฿11,000 for nine weeks. The AI Engineering Mentorship is ฿17,500 for four months, including one-to-one sessions and code review on your portfolio piece.
These prices include everything: materials, exercises, all mentor interactions, and the completion certificate. There are no add-ons to buy mid-course.

// What Sets Us Apart
Things we do that are less common.
The "notebook of examples" approach
Each concept is introduced through a working example, not a lecture. You read an explanation alongside the code that implements it. The exercise then asks you to apply the same idea in a slightly different situation. Theory and practice sit side by side throughout.
We advise you to wait if you are not ready
If you contact us about a course and it becomes clear you are not yet at the right level, we tell you — and suggest what to cover first. We do not take money from people who are unlikely to get what they came for.
Portfolio piece rather than a final exam
The AI Engineering Mentorship concludes with a portfolio project — something you have built, had reviewed, and can present. A certificate tells an employer you finished a course. A portfolio piece tells them what you can do.
Small cohort by design
We limit the number of learners per mentor so feedback stays meaningful. A mentor who is reviewing thirty submissions a week cannot give each one the attention it deserves. We would rather grow more slowly and keep the quality of instruction consistent.
